WELCOME TO GUISBOROUGH CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
Moving prayerfully and purposefully in the power of the Holy Spirit
Guisborough Christian Fellowship meets every Sunday at 10:15am for Worship and Fellowship at Laurence Jackson School, Guisborough.
Our service is followed by refreshments, fellowship and an informal time to chat, connect, and get to know one another.

We are an independent Christian church and a member of the Evangelical Alliance and our congregation includes people from Guisborough as well as the wider Cleveland and Yorkshire areas.

During the week, we run House Groups and activities in various locations, providing opportunities for friendship, prayer, and studying the Bible together. For details of times and venues, please see our newsletter or contact us by email at gcfcentral@gmail.com.

You are very welcome to join us at any of our meetings, we look forward to welcoming you!

OUR VISION STATEMENT
To be a fellowship which can positively influence the growth of Christianity in our locality and encourage the wider body of Christians in the Guisborough area.

WHAT WE VALUE
We Value:
-
Teaching from Gods Word for the spiritual transformation and growth of every disciple
-
Father God, the author of life and supreme over all creation
-
The Son, Jesus Christ, around whom our lives are centered
-
The Holy Spirit, the indwelling presence and power of God within each believer
-
The development of godly, loving relationships starting with the family, the local church and to the wider community
-
Humbly serving one another through the use of our gifts and abilities for Gods kingdom purposes
-
A lifestyle of worship inclusive of song, giving and prayer
-
Loving and welcoming in our fellowship those who seek to follow Jesus, regardless of gender, race, sexuality, intellect or culture
-
The contribution of all to our services and activities, without asking for a formal decision to join GCF
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We Believe:
-
In one God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit (1)
-
The Bible is inspired by God for our teaching, training, correction and spiritual transformation (2)
-
God created everything, and made men and women in His image (3)
-
Mankind disobeyed God’s plan for them, and the relationship we had with God was broken by our rebellion (4)
-
God is love, and He graciously made a way for everyone to regain their personal relationship with Himself through the gift of His Son Jesus Christ (5)
-
God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born in human form through the Virgin Mary (6)
-
Jesus Christ:
o Lived in this world, fully God and fully man (7)
o Died on a cross because of our rebellion, although he himself was innocent (8)
o Was buried, but physically arose again to life three days later, having defeated death and the grave (9)
o In bodily form, ascended back into heaven to stand in the presence of God His Father on our behalf (10)
o Will come again to judge the living and the dead (11)
-
Through faith in Jesus Christ we are set free from the result of our rebellion (12)
-
Those who turn back to God and away from rebellion shall not perish, but are born again of the Holy Spirit into eternal life, becoming Children of God to be with Him forever (13)
-
The Holy Spirit:
o Is the guarantee of our eternal relationship with God as our Father (14)
o Is the indwelling presence and power of God for every believer (15)
o Leads the believers into all truth so that the believer will become fruitful in
encouraging and strengthening others (16)
o Empowers and equips believers with supernatural gifts to serve God (17)
o Is able to bring healing to body and mind through prayer and the physical laying on of hands (18)
-
Jesus Christ calls believers to be baptised in water, as a public witness to our joining with Jesus in His death and being raised to new life in Him. (19)
-
Jesus Christ calls believers to remember His death and resurrection through an act of thanksgiving, where bread and wine are used to symbolise the breaking oF His body and the spilling of His blood on the cross (20)
-
The Church, united by the Holy Spirit, forms a single body (the Body of Christ) where Jesus Christ is the Head (21)
-
The local church, characterised by this unity, represents the Body of Christ under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, with Jesus Christ as the Head (22)
-
Every believer is called to priestly service and action within the church, and in the world, to honour and glorify God as empowered by the Holy Spirit (23)
-
Every believer is encouraged by the Holy Spirit to continue growing in holiness, from new birth, and, throughout life (24)
